Chapter 1: It all began with a blog.

I started blogging in early 2015 with only the hope to share my travels and the tips and tricks I’d learned along the way. What I discovered was a passion for writing. Fast forward to today and I run three blogs, The Globetrotting Teacher, Discover Northern Italy, and House Full of Learning. I’ve mapped them out below to give you a sense of what each one features.

The Globetrotting Teacher is my original blog. What started on merely a whim to document the places I’d traveled and share what I knew about miles and points, as well as New York City as a long-time resident, has incredibly amassed more than 10 million views.

My aim was and still is to inspire others to see the world and do so confidently and for less.

Discover Northern Italy came to be several years after my first blog. I’ve always had a not-so-secret obsession with Italy. Blame it on my ancestral roots but I can’t resist its history, landscapes, and food. I officially succumbed in 2022 when my husband and I bought a house in a small village in the Piedmont region. I even became a dual U.S.-Italian citizen.

So, instead of overwhelming The Globetrotting Teacher with a glut of articles about Italy, I created a new blog focused on the eight regions of northern Italy.

I created House Full of Learning to share the experiences I learned after more than 15 years as a classroom teacher. It’s also a place for me to write about my passions as a lifelong learner.

While still small in scope, I’m working behind the scenes to grow this blog. Stay tuned!
