My Story (from 2015 until now)

Let’s start on a chilly January 2015 weekend in NYC. I was an elementary school teacher with a Master’s degree enjoying some well-deserved downtime when I declared to my husband that I wanted to start a blog about our travels and how I used miles and points to book flights and hotel nights. He responded with a simple, positive response (sounds great), and without realizing it at the time, I pivoted to a path I previously didn’t know was even a possibility.

It’s cliche to say life is full of moments, some big, some small. But if you’d told me then that this one instant would take me on a journey from the classroom to traveling the world and writing about it, to renovating a house in Italy, and building a creative career that incorporated writing, creating resources that helped others travel, and building three blogs that blended my passions, I flat-out wouldn’t have believed you.

I started with The Globetrotting Teacher and, after two years of growing the blog while teaching, I was able to work on it full-time. Since then, the site has had more than 10 million views. Discover Northern Italy and House Full of Learning followed and continue to grow.

During this time, I’ve been asked to share what I’ve learned in the media, grew a miles and points Facebook Group, was a featured speaker at the Women’s Travel Fest, and created digital courses and resources for my audience.

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far and I’m excited for the future. I hope you’ll take a moment to check out my writing portfolio, learn more about my blogs, and see how we might work together.
